Johannes Itten Linked Archive (JILA)
The Johannes Itten Linked Archive (JILA) shows the potential of linked open data technologies for cataloging estates.
Johannes Itten Linked Archive (JILA) uses the example of the estate of the artist, art theorist and art educator Johannes Itten (1888-1967) to demonstrate a novel approach to research based on global networking through Linked Open Data and offers an innovative visualization of relationships between people and documents in the search results.
JILA is the result of a joint project between the Swiss Art Research Infrastructure (SARI) at the University of Zurich and the Zentralbibliothek Zürich (ZB), in which the two institutions experimented with the potential of semantic web technologies in archival indexing.
