It all sounds the same: AI-generated texts are characterised by a number of peculiarities that may offer an experienced reader clues to whether a text was written by a human or not. However, given their omnipresence in recent times, these traits have also begun to creep into our own writing style. In this coffee lecture, we will explore some of the typical liguistic features of AI-generated texts and discuss why they can be problematic. The goal is to help us deliberately avoid or correct such patterns in our own texts and thus invest in the language quality of our theses, publications and presentations.
