Periodicals, newspapers, magazines and book series
The Zentralbibliothek Zürich subscribes to several thousand periodicals, newspapers, magazines and book series on your behalf. In terms of academic literature, the focus is on the humanities and social sciences.
Academic journals
Current issues of academic journals can be found in the temporary periodicals area in stack 04 and in the reading rooms of the Special Collections. Periodicals are subdivided by subject area and arranged alphabetically within each to make them easy to find on the shelf. Workspaces and reading areas, as well as scanners and printers, can be found immediately adjacent to the temporary periodicals area.
Issues of periodicals are bound annually and then archived in the shared Speicherbibliothek Schweiz. These holdings remain accessible. You can order the items you require conveniently online via document delivery.
Most periodical titles are also accessible online in the network of the University of Zurich and the ZB Zürich. These e-journals are listed in the Electronic Journals Library (EZB) and the Rechercheportal.

Spend some time in the reading lounge in P0, which offers comfortable sofas and a wide range of literature. It carries newspapers, magazines and popular science journals in six subject areas: general, art and culture, history, politics and society, languages and literatures, and natural sciences.
