At the Biblioweekend 2024 «Zu Tisch!», Citizen Scientists began transcribing the «Koch Buch und sonst allerhand Recept» by Marianne Lutz née Messmer. This handwritten cookbook, written around 1750, provides an insight into everyday life in bygone eras.
The recipes include pies, soup, lots of meat, fish and much more. The index, written by Marianne Lutz herself, has already been transcribed.
Help us to finish deciphering the «Koch Buch und sonst allerhand Recept» and publish its text online with the help of the e-manuscripta transcription tool!
The project is part of the Zurich Central Library's strategic focus on Citizen Science.
