The Society of Friends of the Zentralbibliothek Zürich (GFZB) was established in 1917. The Friends are committed to maintaining our academicand literary heritage. The Society enables the purchase of important items and supports projects for which the Zentralbiblithek does not have access to public funds.
Thanks to the Friends of the Zentralbibliothek Zürich, the Library is not only able to acquire special items, it can also realise projects such as the very popular reading lounge that was inaugurated in 2011.
